“I’m Bored” Solutions that Benefit Vision!

E002868The summer is winding down quickly and maybe your kids or even you are getting bored. We have come up with a list of ideas to keep you active.

Our eyes have the most opportunity for teaming when we are outside. Below are several lists of activities that are fun and encourage the visual system to do it’s thing! Enjoy.

Yard Games:

  • Ladder Ball
  • Bocce Ball
  • Bean Bag Toss
  • Frisbee Golf

Road Trip Games:

  • The Alphabet Game
  • I Spy
  • The License Plate Game

Outdoor Fun:

  • Mini Golf
  • Chalk
  • Hopscotch
  • Four Square
  • Jump Rope
  • Hula Hoop
  • Bubbles
  • Sand Art – Use old jelly jars or other jars.  Add a few tablespoons of colored sand.  Kids tilt jar and continue layering sand.

Messy Fun:

  • Use powdered gelatin, powdered drink mix, Malt-O-Meal or shaving cream.  Pour 1-2 cups on a tray.  Have kids trace letters, numbers, or draw using their finger.
  • Water Balloon Toss
  • Egg and Spoon Races

Old Favorites:

  • Swimming
  • Biking
  • Cloud Watching
  • Swinging
  • Rolling down a hill
